Oleksandr Komarov

Oleksandr was appointed CEO of Kyivstar in July 2018 with a mission to strengthen the company’s position as Ukraine’s leading telecommunications operator and transform the business towards digital services. Under his leadership, Kyivstar became the first Ukrainian company to be listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange.

He joined VEON, Kyivstar’s parent company, in 2013, and in 2015 was appointed CEO of Beeline Kazakhstan, where he delivered sustainable revenue growth and led the company’s transformation from a telecommunications operator into a digital services provider.

Prior to entering the telecommunications industry, Oleksandr was the founder and CEO of GroupM Ukraine (WPP Group), part of one of the world’s largest marketing communications groups. He also held a number of senior management positions in marketing and commerce at international and Ukrainian companies.

He holds an MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics.
