Oleksandr Vodoviz has worked at Metinvest since 2008. In 2018, he became the head of the Chief Executive Officer’s Office. He is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, strategy and government relations.
Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, his responsibilities have significantly expanded: Oleksandr has taken charge of the assistance provided to the Joint Defence Forces of Ukraine and oversees its technical support. He also manages Metinvest Group’s humanitarian initiatives.
During his tenure, Metinvest has made a significant contribution to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and maintaining its economic stability.
The Group has become one of the largest private donors to the Ukrainian military. Metinvest has established the systematic supply of military equipment of the highest quality to the front line. This includes drones and military optics, vehicles, ammunition and many other types of equipment. Oleksandr’s team has been able to track down all this scarce equipment abroad, purchase it and arrange for its delivery to Ukraine.
Oleksandr has received several expressions of gratitude for his assistance from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the DIU, named Oleksandr as one of the most active volunteers supporting the organisation.
During the war, Oleksandr has played a vital role in the effort to restore production at group facilities and ensure their optimal capacity, allowing Metinvest to contribute to the Ukrainian treasury, secure foreign exchange earnings and support Ukraine’s defenders and civilian population.
Oleksandr received his higher education at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, specialising in Accounting and Auditing. He also holds an ACCA diploma in International Financial Reporting and is pursuing an MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business (US).
